 Department of Post Graduate Studies in Panchakarma

GOVERNMENT AYURVEDA MEDICAL COLLEGE, MYSURU is an historical college with history of 110 years. The foundation of the college was laid by His Highness Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar, was supported by His Highness sri Krishnaraja wodeyar IV. The institute is situated in the heart of the cultural and heritage city - Mysuru.
Deparment of post graduate studies in panchakarma was started in the year 2018, with 5 post graduate seats offering degree AYURVEDA VACHASPATHI (MD in ayurveda).

Panchakarma is a super speciality clinical branch of ayurveda. It deals with the therapeutic procedures which help in bio-purification of the body. ayurveda emphasis "swasthasya swasthya rakshanam aaturasya vikara prashamana" Panchakarma has major contribution to swasthya ( health) and also vikara prashamana( treatment of disease).
panchakarma is composed majorly with five bio-purification procedures like Vamana, Virecana, Basti, Nasya, Rakthamokshana. other procedures like abhyanga( oil massage) udwartana(powder massage) therapeutic procedure such as kati basti, janubasti, upnaha, shirodhara etc have been included.
panchakarma department has seperate opd in hospital section. In-patient facility for admission. department is equipped with separate male and female panchakarma theatre where the procedure are conducted.
